I think it would be very useful if, additionally to the app's current functionality, it would also work as a panic trigger for other apps, like Ripple does.

Hello friend :)
Yes that would definitely be a cool feature. But there is one thing I'm not sure about. Ripple does send out broadcasts but does it receive them too in order to carry out the trigger? I think that is a key success factor. Anyway I'll look into their code to find out.

Ripple is a PanicKit trigger app. It is just a "trigger" app, and other apps implement the responses. So if your app implements the PanicKit trigger side, then it can also trigger those responses. See the docs for how:
