Installation procedure on ubuntu out of date #93

This is very true, however I'm not quite sure what to do about to it, as I don't think its sustainable to give instructions for all the versions of the common distros/OSes/python distributions. An alternative would be to simple list the dependencies and make sure they were always accurate. It might also be time to make a pip-able install or a conda package. Thoughts? |
Making it installable via pip/conda/both sounds reasonable, then keeping a list of dependencies up-to-date is a much easier job. |
I'm running into the same issues. Have tried installing with pip, pip3 and apt and no joy on all fronts on ubuntu 18.04 and 19.10. I think under 19.10 I did get it running far enough for the testSimulation.py test to complete succesfully but since i could not install PyQt5, I had no GUI. Any recommended procedure on either OS? |
Sorry for taking such a long time to get back to you on this, I would recommend the anaconda distribution of Python, it should be fairly easy to install PyQT from Conda to get the GUI working. |
