Redirect URL Not Working – 404 Error

We have configured a redirect using the Redirect Manager UI in AEM, but after publishing, the redirect URL is throwing a 404 error instead of redirecting correctly. Below are the details:

Source Path: /content/smartly/nz/en/resource-centre/Policy-and-compliance/Guide-to-employment-policies
Target Path: https://smartly.co.nz/resource-centre/Policy-and-compliance/employment/Guide-to-employment-policies
Status Code: 301
Redirect Until: N/A
Note: N/A

We have configured another URL which is working as expected :
Source Path: /content/smartly/nz/en/support/help-centre/Employer-24/report-generator
Target Path: https://smartly.co.nz/support/help-centre/Employer/report-generator
Status Code: 301
Redirect Until: N/A
Note: N/A

The 2nd url is public, while the 1st one is protected by authentication. The request isn't making it to the Redirect Manager. AEM intercepts unauthorised requests and returns 401.
