Is it possible to add 120hz option?

Hi - thank you for this EDID edit. I just used yours (with a few minor description changes in AW EDID Editor), and it works just great at 4k RGB 10bit, but only at 60hz. When I spam the green button on my LG 42 C2, it says RGB 10b 4L12, so it should be able to achieve all this at 120hz?.

I have attached my "modified" EDID, in hope you can shed some light :-)

if you don't have an HDMI 2.1 output 120hz are not possible with 4k resolution. see the bandwith limitation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI "Refresh frequency limits for common resolutions" and "Refresh frequency limits" for standard video tables.

hdmi 2.0 has a max bandwith of 14.4 Gbit/s, what you need is ~35.0 Gbit/s for 10bit. (UWQHD | 3440 × 1440 | 10 | 129 at 35.0 Gbit/s).

the only mac with a hdmi 2.1 output is the new macbook pro with an m2.

Hi - and thanks for the quick reply. I have a 6900XT gpu/egpu. I’m running output from aktive DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1, giving 48gbit (4 lanes with 12gbit - as told by my LG tv connection (RGB 10b 4L12). Dual boot to windows and the 120hz 10b 444 Full RGB is confirmed. Outputting HDMI 2.1 to HDMI 2.1, only allows “RGB 8b 4L6” (Same certified 2.1 HDMI cable 1,5 meter) in Mac OS - it’s software restricted to HDMI 2.0 standard. So the bandwith is present, but I need to bypass OSX just like the EDID override to get 10b RGB (which was 4:2:0 10b 4L12 before EDID, even in 60hz or 120hz). okay. try to obtain the EDID on windows and compare both. maybe macOS is stripping some important things.

tbh i can't really say what one needs to change to make it possibly work. a lot of the things i know were just a lot of trial and error till it worked.

macOS is really picky and special about all this sadly.

It seems there aren't that many options to get the same values in Windows. I tried several software and its total barebones info. I have attached the one with the most info, and its not very useful. Yeah, its very picky, and that is why no one yet has cracked the option to get 4K 120 8b/10b 444. I tried to use AW EDID to edit a "Forced" 120hz resolution, but the Pixel Clock is max'ed to 655, so I can't add that as an option. The new M2's connects with 4L10 (40gbit) and i'm connected with 4L12 (48gbit), but i'm software blocked. Thanks for the suggestions... I think the next step might be a forum thread.
