Extended from #29
Background
Originally, there were game-wide achievements, along with scoring and various achievement contents. This would not suit the system in TerraModulus, so a new proposal was made as #29. Per-account achievements seem ideal, but the validity is a concern.
Details
Maybe this is why Minecraft Java has only advancements but no achievements: if such achievements are made not in vanilla survival, the nature of achievement is changed, so the value of achievements is decreased. Despite this, it is quite hard to implement like the Bedrock one, since it is a highly customizable game, unlike Bedrock's implementation.
Original Thoughts
Though originally, the Achievements could just be per-client (when guests) and per-account (when signed in), if attained as guests, the progress is updated to the account. If the achievements are survival-related, they should be challenging or special enough whilst could collide with the advancements.
Discussion
While we have the Advancement system, it is required to decide whether we still need the account-based Achievements implemented in TerraModulus. This issue is opened for open discussions about this topic. Everyone is free to express their ideas.
