Windows 64-bit binaries.
Each release now includes an "install" folder containing "mmp-install.bat" which will associate Minimalist Media Player with all the audio and video file extensions that it supports. This has been adapted from the same batch file that ships with MPV itself. This batch file must be run from a subfolder of MinimalistMediaPlayer.exe's location.
You can edit the batch file to remove any file extensions you don't want associated with MMP. I recommend commenting out any such lines with a double colon :: in case you change your mind in the future.
It doesn't associate any image file extensions as I have assumed that, like me, you have a preferred app for managing your images.
You can, of course, manually associate your image file extensions with MMP if you wish, and you can always right-click any supported image file in your file manager/explorer app and select "Open with..." / "Minimalist Media Player".
Image files will still always be automatically added to the current folder's playlist.
"mmp-uninstall.bat" will remove all assocations with Minimalist Media Player.
N.B. Occasionally, you will find that Windows keeps a previous assocation between a media file extension and Windows Media Player. I have been unable to find a fix for this that I can include in the batch file. However, as MMP will now be a registered program, the association with Windows Media Player is easily fixed by going to the Windows Settings / Default Apps and selecting "Minimalist Media Player"...
...clicking on the required extension (in this case .aac)...
...and selecting MMP from the supplied list.
When the batch file has finished, you have the option of opening up Windows Settings / Default Apps. If you don't want to, simply close the window.
Asset files
The "...full.zip" release file below contains everything you need to run Minimalist Media Player:
Alternatively, if you already have these from a previous release, you can just download the program update:
MinimalistMediaPlayer_v2_1_1.zip
(I strongly recommend that you do not download this file from any source other than Github)
All comments and suggestions for additional functionality or to highlight operational issues will be well received over on the Discussions page https://github.com/BazzaCuda/MinimalistMediaPlayerX/discussions
