2. Getting Started
To begin with, you'll need to craft yourself a Scraper. Use this on an entity to get Organic Matter of that entity. Sneak right-click the Scraper to get Organic Matter of type Player.
Pass Organic Matter through the Cell Analyzer to get Cells. These are also tied to the entity type.
Pass Cells through the DNA Extractor to get a DNA Helix with an unknown Gene.
Pass encrypted DNA Helices through the DNA Decryptor to figure out what Gene the Helix has. Each has a weighted list of Genes it can produce, with the Basic Gene being the default, which does nothing.
Plasmids are the item that actually carry the Gene. Put one in the right slot of a Plasmid Infuser, and then place the DNA Helices on the left slot.
Each Gene requires a certain amount of DNA Points. For example, Bioluminescence requires 16 DNA Points.
For every DNA Helix of the Plasmid's Gene you infuse, you get +2 DNA Points. Basic DNA Helices can be infused for +1 DNA Point.
Get a Syringe, and use it to extract some of your blood. This blood will be contaminated, and has to be decontaminated in the Blood Purifier.
Combine a decontaminated Syringe with a completed Plasmid in the Plasmid Infuser, and the Gene will be added to the Syringe. You can have as many Genes in a Syringe as you like.
Once you're ready, inject the Syringe back into yourself, and you'll get the Genes!
You can also repeat this process using a Metal Syringe to give Genes to others, like mobs.
Anti-Plasmids remove Genes when injected. Set the Gene by combining it with a completed Plasmid, and then injecting it like any other.
