cant pipe audio on pi4 using pulseaudio

i have used this tutorial to turn my pi into a bluetooth audio receiver. this tutorial makes it so pulseaudio and the related bluetooth services run on boot. when trying to use the '-audio -' parameter, it says "Error: could not open stdin for audio input." it also completely kills the aux output and is just a very high pitched beep.
im running raspbian lite 64 bit ona a raspberry pi 4b 8gb.

maybe it has to do with not using the | symbol? if so, how can i run pulseaudio and this at the same time

the killed aux output is normal, what command to run pifmrds are you using?
