Extract Table, A- and A+ buttons not visible (sometimes)

I'm having an error where sometimes when I click into a manuscript image, the extract table, A- and A+ buttons across the top of the TEI space have disappeared. At other times, they are visible. See screenshots of the same page this morning - at first the extract table, A- and A+ buttons were missing. When I clicked back into the page about 30 minutes later, they were there again.
