Chat message not switching to "read"

Clicked and opened all messages shown as "unread" in my normal chats inbox.

Results:
One of the chats keeps showing as unread after opening it, and there is a "1" still shown under Chats as if I have one unread message. The problem persists after I refresh the page.

I have also had this bug, but (I think) it is usually just a delay in marking it red. Though sometimes the delay is so long it seems like its not working.

For me it's a message that is several months old, so I don't think it's a delay issue. Other chats I was able to clear immediately.
