Can we completely remove XML output?

Removing xml output would simplify index.js and utils.js to some extent since there are several logic to reformat the fragments to support XML. With the recent addition of jsonata, it is possible to construct XPath-like queries and retrieve data from the bom json file like cdxi.

Please comment if your organization or team requires XML output.

We only just started using SBOMs but XML as a format is irrelevant for us.

I agree - removing the XML logic branches would simplify the codebase. For us, we only use the JSON output
