I recently showed someone how to uncheck the Immediate check box so that the laser cutter would use absolute coordinates i.e. the laser cutter cuts out the shape based on its position on the screen representation of the bed. Does that sound like what you were seeing @LizTaylor404 ? |
I'm not sure. Does that mean it rotates it 180 degrees to cut if it is unchecked or checked? |
No, I'm finding this surprisingly hard to explain. Here's what it says on Bristol Hackspace Wiki: "If the Immediate checkbox in the laser settings panel on the right is unchecked then the design will be cut where it is placed within the work area shown on screen." I can show you on Maker Night if you like. |
The If it had happened to me I'd try turning it off and on again, where "it" could be any or all of the LaserCut software; the laser-cutter; and the PC 🤣 I do remember occasions when the Tagging @DoESLiverpool/laser-maintenance so they know about it too. On the separating power to the PC from power to the laser-cutter issue, that was the original plan with #1809 so I've added a note on there about it. |
I was using the small laser cutter on Saturday. It would only cutting from the back right hand corner, even if the printer origin was set elsewhere. It turned the file 180 degrees from where it was set.
Also, is there any way the computer attached to the small laser isn't dependant on it starting up, and shutting down when the laser does?
