Firstly that thread is very old and most likely any information gathered there is no longer valid.
Error 1006 is just an abnormal close event which means it can be fired for many reasons. For example maybe the streamer is crashing or something. link for close codes
The errors you have included in your issue seem to suggest there might be some versioning mismatch or some bad configuration between the frontend and the streamer. Are you using the latest release of the 5.4 infrastructure code?
The fix you mentioned, are you sure it fixes your issue? How did you test it? Because of the large differences over past releases it can be hard to compare results across older versions.
More details on your setup would be helpful. Things like what browser you're using, how you obtained your frontend code, what the streamer is doing and what is being output to the console while you attempt streaming.
