How and when local database is synced with global and how and when local reports are saved? #520
Comments
How can I analyze an app nowhere to be found but my system? Sorry for overlays on screenshots below, I didn't pay attention when making them ;) After pressing a shield icon I get: |
It's not possible to analyze app system unavailable on Google Play or Fdroid. This app have a lot of permissions because oppo have a lot of custom permissions. It's not possible to know foreach permissions what access is give. But I guess it's access to some parts of devices settings because this app have a system to sync notes with cloud. |
Thank you very much for detailed info. |
I've just found an app that seemed it was not having report in Exodus app database, even after I've refreshed it with pull down and seen sync progress counting 0-127.
First Exodus app was showing "?" in the app trackers info. I performed analysis and seen my own report. In the app I could still see "?" in the trackers tab, but when I entered Aurora store I could see my own report about the app - date an hour were the same, that I've made analysis.
Sorry if I reapeat, but I want it clear: my local Exodus database did not contain my own local analysis and report data, while remote database already had it...? Is that a bug? Shouldn't report be saved and visible in my local database first, before it is uploaded to remote database?
I'm about this app: https://reports.exodus-privacy.eu.org/en/reports/518365/
Re-syncing database helped after 2nd or 3rd time. Now my local info looks updated, no question mark in trackers section of the app, report is up to date.
Thank you for this great idea and venture, which is Exodus Privacy.
