To simulate CAVs can use multi-agent environments supported in highway-env. This allows the simulation of multiple vehicles in the same environment with shared experience. However, it is difficult to simulate V2V communication because vehicles are not executed in parallel.

exactly, the missing feature is the ability of V2X communications ( vehicle
to everything, including to other vehicles and Road side units). I'm
thinking about developing this feature as a part of my PhD research.
