従来の X 線結晶回折法では解けない試料(1 um 以下のナノ結晶や混合物)を優先しています。結晶が十分に大きいと判断した時は、放射光 X 線を紹介することがあります。また、試料の性状や実験目的によっては、HRTEM や STEM など実空間でのイメージングを推奨することがあります(我々の装置では不可能)。
We prioritize samples that are not amenable to X-ray crystallography, e.g. nano-crystals smaller than 1 um and/or mixtures. When the sample turns out to be large enough, we might refer it to synchrotron X-ray beamlines. Depending on the sample and the goal of the experiment, we might recommend real-space methods such as HRTEM and STEM at other facilities.
