Discussion

A/Q scatterplots indicate:

RFQ pre-buncher A/Q transmission region (vertical band), centered on beam species A/Q post-CSB

DSB pre-buncher A/Q transmission region (horizontal band), centered on selected charge state A/Q post-stripping foil

Ellipses indicate 2σ A/Q regions for stable ions, beta decay daughters, and surface ionization products able to pass both CSB and DSB magnetic filters, in addition to the beam species.

Charge State plots indicate the gaussian charge state distributions for the elements illustrated, per the parameterizations in [2,3]. If 'Isobars Only' is selected (default), only elements with companions isobaric to the beam species are shown; if 'All Contaminants' is selected, a curve is drawn for every element represented in the transmission region of both prebuchers.

Isotope tables list several classes of possible contaminants, along with their A/Q value after accounting for energy loss in the stripping foil.

CSB Product Companions lists stable species and charge states which fall within the A/Q transmission region in the figure and which are known to come from the liner of the charge state booster.

Other Companions lists stable ions with an A/Q value falling within the A/Q transmission region, but which are not know to be present in the CSB liner.

Surface Ionization Products lists beam isobars potentially generated via surface ionization from the ion source.

Decay Chain Products lists all beta decay chain daughters of both the beam species, and any radioactive species found in the Surface Ionization Products table.
