There should be some tests for this tool to ensure it keeps working correctly, otherwise it is hard to convince people to use the xstatic mechanism.

This repo is more of a proof of concept from many years back. I am not sure if any-one uses xstatic in the wild.

If you are telling me that you are using xstatic I will be happy to double check this small piece of code still works on modern Django, add unit tests and a LICENSE file.

These are xstatic packages that are part of linux distros.
