It thought it would be good to make the project more accessible for new OS contributors.
With better understanding of the problems, the infrastructure and the tasks as well as seeing the progress it would be easier for contributors to get started and motivated.

what do you think? something that you would be interested in?

Hey Bumi,
This is an interesting thought. What do you think would be the necessary steps to make it more accessible?

  • Project website?
  • More documentation?

My Only concern is not having the time invest. In the past with OSS the majority dev generally comes from a core team which is committed and lots of small little pieces come in from other contributors.

In my point of view there is not much difference between a OS contributor and an employee etc. And thus it is valuable for anybody new to the project.

A project website is a great idea. maybe tech.gle.solar :) We could explain some challenges, ideas, a general overview of how it/the architecture works, list the different OS projects and GH issues that can be worked on. and a blog and, and.. :)
of course I do not know what we can/want to share...

But I'd be happy to set something up. could be a simple jekyll page on github that anybody can contribute to.

And, and, and ... : )

Exactly, would love all this stuff. The issue is best bang for time. What is the least we can do with the best outcome as the list as you say, can go on for a long time.

If you were to list the top 3 in order of priority what would it look like?

yep on and on... but we could start somewhere :)

I think having a website that is easily editable - maybe even just a wiki - would be a nice start. Everyone then can add stuff they think is valuable.
If you all want I can go ahead and set something up.
