Request: Generate OTR on Wii U / Switch from Virtual Console / Nintendo Switch Online

SoH now supports the PAL 1.1 ROM. This version was released on VC and NSO. So potentially the Wii U and Switch ports of SoH could extract the ROM directly and generate OTR without a PC. On VC the PAL ROM is region-exclusive but on Switch the non-Japanese version of the NSO app contains both NA and PAL ROMs.

I don't see how these are related? That's about supporting different ROMs while this is about automatically dumping the ROM from the VC/NSO apps?

i guess i misread this before. i can reopen it, but

• NSO is a no-go, you don't own that rom, we can't copy it (which extracting assets from it counts as)
• Getting this working on wii u would take a lot of time, we'd need to port the VC dumping tools to wii u (they currently rely on getting a dump from the wii u and then running an application on a PC to extract the rom), as well as the soh asset extraction code

so really this is 2 issues:

• support asset extraction on switch/wii u
• port vc dumping/rom extraction to wii u, integrate it with soh
