Some users reported that the text input field is grayed (and not usable?) out after startup.

Looks like this happens only after first startup (SURFER shows tutorial gallery intro page). Not a bad idea per se, I would say.

Unfortunately, I was unable to reproduce this behavior on MacOS X 10.9.5 and Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit.

@HexeBianca: Can you provide further instructions how to reproduce this issue?
