This is a great tool!
One feature I'd find really useful is to start and stop the capture remotely (Bluetooth remote), i.e. if the phone is on a monopod/ higher vantage point.
Maybe an easy solution would be, that triggering could be started with the volume button of the phone? I guess that's what a Bluetooth remote defaults to, and this is also how other camera apps work?
It would also be important to have some (accoustic?) feedback when/if the triggering starts and stops (as one can't see the progress on the screen in this remote case).

Heya,

Great suggestions, the volume button camera trigger is actually at the top of my feature todo list (I implemented it once but then broke it).

Audio cue is also a good idea, but I think that will have to wait until I figure out how to make a better settings menu UI (so that people can turn stuff like that off/on)

Great that you are considering this remote feature, thanks so much!
Would open up quite a few other use cases for this software, i.e. photogrammetry, radiance fields (with fast dng captures rather than video)...
Please let us know if there are any updates on this.

Thank, I got somewhat carried away and basically rewrote the entire front-end of the app (and also half the back-end) to have control bars like a pro camera app. Should have a release out this week hopefully.

Added the button control, still working on sound (for some reason when the frames start getting read out it cuts off whatever sound I'm trying to play)

That's brilliant progress, looking good!
I did some very quick initial tests (Max FPS 0.5, EXP 1/100, OIS disabled, rest also manual) on a Pixel 8 Pro, and noticed that there was a huge delay between the captures (2+ sec). Has something changed in this respect, or could it be my settings? Thanks!

Will check that out, that might be because it's waiting for a bunch of threads with "delay(0.5)" in them to die before restarting the stream
