Basically, when you get stuck, they make you glitch out if you get caught in a bad way. and theres no counter play as far as i can tell aside from "don't get hit". Which is easier said than done at the best of times when they decide to shoot as such a close range.

You can also seem to walk into it after the fact and still start glitching out while trying to move. it's not fun. Cause I can't just slide myself out of it like normal webs or sword/shear it away. I got webbed and all I could do was accept two creepers back to back while remaining suspended in midair, followed by just being web refreshed again when I fell down by another spider and finished off while generally being completely incapable of movement and all my attempts at moving making me glitch back to the webs center. :V

Don't the spiders in dungeons generally come in for the melee after one of them succeeds at webbing you which should prevent being chain stuck?

These webs i find on my server, are teleporting players who have been stuck back to where they were after respawning if they do it fast enough. While the webs locking people in place is the goal, it should be done in some other way. Perhaps even making weblocks instead as a config option, if you were trying to avoid using the slowness potion effect.
