Show only N selected values and add a "+ XYZ others" badge in ValueContainer

Hello,
I have implemented the feature I described in the title by editing the ValueContainer, but the research stop working when I reach the threshold (2 in my case). It's strange because the Input used to search disappears from the DOM when the threshold is reached. I have opened a question on StackOverflow showing my code and describing my situation: can you help me here or there?
