Listing Description

The Nym mixnet is built upon free and open-source software licensed under GPLv3. It operates through hundreds of independent nodes distributed worldwide. Each data packet transmitted via the mixnet is first encrypted in layers using the Sphinx packet format, then passes sequentially through an entry gateway, three mix nodes, and an exit gateway. Additionally, each packet undergoes random delays, is standardized to a uniform size, and is mixed with cover traffic. This process complicates the implementation of time-pattern attacks by adversaries monitoring all communications entering and leaving the network, thereby decoupling source and destination IP addresses.
