This way the app will look more professional and native to the modern Android ecosystem

Closes #9?

I second this. Especially the font.

A nice example of a similar app with fantastic Material You UI is this one:

Sorry, but the edgy paper-like design will stay.

Is it actually that bad ?

We're just expressing our preference my friend. The Material You design is really nice. No big deal though. Your app, your choice. 😁

Taste of art is personal. I respect the original design. But If no Material You UI at least let me change the font? :-P

Hey, it's open source mate! You can grab the code and do whatever you want with it! 😄

System default such as Roboto will just be fine.

The Design actually looks nice & I'm taking this as inspiration for my next project,

although material you can be implement at some level the amount of work is maybe a lot (i don't have experience with implementing material you). You can add it at the bottom of todo list tho. maybe adding a slight background tint using material you can have best of both worlds.
