@bierdosenhalter, did the suggested solution help? Let me know if it doesn't make sense or if I've misunderstood what it is you're trying to do. |

Is there a specific issue you're facing? Please explain.
The current MODFLOW 6 LAK package lacks the capability to automatically switch from inflow control to stage control based on predefined maximum stage thresholds. This gap limits the dynamic management of water levels, particularly in situations where maintaining precise stage levels is essential, such as in the case of flooding mining subsidence lakes.
What solution would be beneficial?
Introducing an automatic switching feature that allows the model to transition from inflow control to stage control once the maximum stage is reached would be a significant improvement. This addition would provide greater flexibility in model operation and enhance the management of water levels.
Have you considered any alternatives?
At present, the only option available is for users to manually manage the transition based on predetermined time intervals, which is not optimal for scenarios that require a more responsive approach.
Additional context
In a scenario where inflow is set at 100 m³/day and the maximum stage is established at 5 meters, the system should be able to automatically switch from inflow control to stage control as soon as the water level reaches 5 meters.
Configuration Example:
Implementing this configuration would allow for effective water level management and enable the model to adapt to varying conditions in real time, particularly in the context of managing the flooding of a mining subsidence lake.
