Hey there! I'm the developer of Hardcore Alchemy: Magic With Consequences, a MultiMC-based modpack for Minecraft 1.10.2. As part of modpack development, I forked Elucent's 1.11 version of Embers in accordance with its license, backported it to 1.10, and added some Thaumcraft compat. Yea, it's a little convoluted. Something to do with the incomplete git history. Anyway, the fork is here:

With Curseforge support for Linux seeming likely, I have been exploring the possibility of uploading HcA to Curseforge, but doing so would require the changes I have made to the mod to be on Curseforge in some fashion. A person on Elucent's Discord mentioned this may be a better place to answer these questions:

  • What is your preference: Integrating the changes upstream, or a fork with its own Curseforge page?
  • If a fork with its own Curseforge page, what is a reasonable revenue split?

Since there's been no response just yet...

My tentative plan is curently to upload the fork to a different Curseforge page, especially since there is likely no one else interested in further maintenance of a 1.10 version. It will likely be called, "Embers: Hardcore Alchemy Edition", or something else in the form, "Embers: X". I assume that the license of this version of Embers should be MIT, as that is the license listed on the Embers Curseforge page. I will do my best to give credit where appropriate.

There's still stuff to work out. I don't foresee uploading the fork to Curseforge for at least another two weeks. Feel free to reach out with any questions/concerns/requests.
