Automation

Automate the data update processes to keep the database current.

  • Select an automation tool (e.g., cron, Airflow, or Prefect)
  • Configure scheduled tasks for data updates
  • Set up logging for ETL runs
  • Configure notifications for failures
  • Schedule periodic updates for Players and Teams data (e.g., roster changes)
  • Automate updates post-game completion for PlayerLogs and TeamLogs data
  • Regularly refresh Schedule data to capture any changes
  • Schedule frequent updates for latest statuses in Injuries data
  • Test automated tasks to ensure they run correctly
  • Document automation setup and commit any automation scripts to GitHub
