Build failure: sile, sile.dev sile.doc sile.man on darwin since 0.15.6 #361005

Is this perhaps stemming from f3125d2 @doronbehar? |
Can't be, these attributes evaluate to TBH, I have no idea how to fix that, but I should be able to help in testing potential fixes via the community's Darwin builder. |
Copied from here:
This may or may not be related and should just be a warning — and stems from the fact that we're both stretching Cargo's limits of interfacing with another build system and GNU Autotools ability to understand modern language tooling here. I need to figure out how to get my hands on an actual Darwin build so I can look at how the C generated modules turned out over there and see if the Rust generated modules are matching that and can be linked and installed the same way like we're trying to do. Also I'd like to understand how this didn't turn up as a problem in CI in the first place... |
If you are talking about Nixpkgs' CI, then it is in a bad situation these days due to the transition to GitHub actions. I'm sorry but I don't have patience to wait roughly 30 hours to see the CI build attempts of PRs. I'm optimistic that this will get better in a few weeks. |
The SILE formula on Homebrew has been blocked on some unrelated Lua issues for a few weeks, but that just got unblocked today, and I just tried to get a bump to v0.15.6 building there. It has linking issues related to |
I don't know how the ecosystem works necessarily, but if this is a problem the SILE derivation can be marked known-broken on Darwin for now. It should be fixed in the next release but so far I've only confirmed the problem, not tracked it down or fixed it so I don't know when that will be. The fix will be in the next release, not v0.15.6 or v0.15.7 which are both affected by this. |
This package does not build properly for macOS at the moment, per the following GitHub issues: - NixOS/nixpkgs#361005 - sile-typesetter/sile#2189 This reverts commit db45b3b.
