• New member Karate Labs announcement coming out Tues, May 24
• New member APIIDA announcement probably coming out Thurs, May 26
• Gluecon recap:
  • 2/3rds the size it usually is.
  • Talk: unfortunately our speaker caught covid and couldn't give her talk! Swiber jumped in to save the day with 55 minutes advance warning!
    • Landscape has changed, internal investments around managing the chaos.
    • One big tool, walled garden, or a bunch of tiny walled gardens?
    • How do you use open standards like OpenAPI?
    • Lots of good questions, lead-ins to SIGs that suggest community issues are aligned.
  • Booth:
    • Weird spot with low traffic, for which organizers apologized.
    • Gave out about half of our tumblers, might use for ASC?
    • PPL would take cards away. Included ASC promotion.
    • How can we make it more "community"? Tailored to "quick pitch" for commercial purposes. Layout to make it more like a community space. Not a, "I'll listen to your pitch for 30 seconds for a t-shirt." We had two round tables that held our swag, but not a "high tables to talk at". How do create the space to have meaningful conversations?
    • Lucky to have volunteers from member companies like BetterCloud and Postman. Healthy exercise to pitch ppl on our messaging. Could watch ppl get better as they gave this over and over.
    • Community space? Could organizers help create space for community that is more about common good (OSS)
    • "I've forgotten how to conference!"

  • One last push? Can we leverage our socnet friendlies by drawing their attention beyond #social-amplification?
