Reproduction

$ rm -rf ~/.config/kicad # Wipe the KiCAD directory (WARNING: WILL REMOVE YOUR PRESETS!)
Launch the project in KiCAD

When asked to configure settings path use Start with default settings
Open the schmatics, when asked to Configure Global Symbol Library Table use Copy custom global symbol library table and select the one provided with the project
