<h3><strong>What is SUMO?</strong></h3>
<p>
We are a group of undergraduate students at the University of Maryland College park, who use the University of Maryland Observatory (UMO), to make observations of transiting exoplanets. The group began as an idea for a summer project for Brett Morris and Harley Katz, and by the end of the summer, they had made a few successfull transit observations. The group has since expanded to include six members of the Science, Discovery, and the Universe College Park Scholars Program and is continuing to grow. We hope to create a database of transit observations and inspire undergraduates at other Universities to join the effort. A special thank you goes out to Elizabeth Warner for all of her help with the project!
