Serial out usable in the simulation

This request originates from a discussion with the commit project. In the simulation they want to have a possibility to inform the user by messages (e.g. written sequentially to a popup window).

As we have already for the most of our robot plugins a block that does serial out (to a console, ..., ...), my idea was, to use this block in the simulation for that purpose. But there should be a in-depth evaluation/discussion whether this is an good enhancement or not. .
