Extension is about to be deprecated (MV2 phase-out begins)

Context

I ❤️‍🔥 this extension, but it seems that it's about to stop working very soon.

@PabloRomanH it it technically possible to rewrite this extension to MV3? If so, do you have such plans?

For the time being it's going to be impossible for me to dedicate time to make the migration. I'm hoping somebody can contribute the changes to make it work.

I'm willing to take this project on and enhance the existing functionality. I'm already working on a similar extension but not related to learning Chinese.

Is there any way this could be made for Firefox? (Better not to touch Google if possible). Maybe even the old version ported (since I think, for now, Firefox will not take part in the MV2 phase-out)? Thanks a lot.
