First of all, thank you for the great contribution regarding this excellent R package. I’m writing to ask whether the Sentinel-1 radar images need to be pre-processed after download or if they are already pre-processed.

Thank you in advance!

The two Sentinel 1 products that are made easily available with {rsi} via the Microsoft planetrary Computer (MPC) STAC catalog are the Ground Range Detected (GRD) and Radiometrically Terrain Corrected (RTC) products. Both of these have different levels of pre-processing. For more information on the nature of this pre-processing see the following links:

GRD: https://planetarycomputer.microsoft.com/dataset/sentinel-1-grd

RTC: https://planetarycomputer.microsoft.com/dataset/sentinel-1-rtc

Check out this section of the docs for information on how to download these different products: https://permian-global-research.github.io/rsi/reference/get_stac_data.html#sentinel-data
You will need to set up your MPC key to access the RTC data.

Cheers,
Hugh
