@austinhuang0131 Thank you for the suggestions:
I can't guarantee a stable enough bandwidth speed since I often use a lot of my server bandwidth. This is the kinda of stuff that would requires a dedicated VPS/dedi and I don't really want to pay more than what we already pay.
It's a cool tool but I don't think a lot of people is using it... so I think it's kinda pointless. Why not though I guess... I really don't know.
I looked into it before this issues and it's something I would like to deploy but it seems to be a pain. I'll surely look into it again later.
I'm guessing you mean stuff like RSS bridges... if so it's the kind of thing I don't see the point in (even though I use RSS daily).
It's too sensitive considering how much users private data goes through that. It technically don't allow user to create data... but it's basically a "logger" of what an IP is browing... which is really something I don't want to have to handle. |
Imgin ( https://git.voidnet.tech/kev/imgin ) recommended by @austinhuang0131 on Matrix will be available on PussTheCat.org when the homepage of it will be a "real" homepage. |
recommended by @austinhuang0131 Lingva is now available on https://lingva.pussthecat.org/ |

Is it a LBRY frontend, or an Odysee frontend, ie: is it affected by the Odysee censorship/filtering
Nope, I don't want to have a visit from RIAA |
Odysee since it uses (removed on request) |
Is that the developer talking? If so it's great that it doesn't use the blocklist and just filters NSFW. |
yes |
I tried to deploy it, it's completely buggy and just hang when started. |
I think it would be great to host a libreddit instance. The reason for not hosting it yet is cited as "it copies the modern layout" of reddit while teddit copies the more informative layout. This is not true because the layout setting of libreddit can be changed to copy the old informative layout. Here is what the "Compact" layout looks like - Now here is why I think libreddit is better than teddit - it has both the new and the old layouts while teddit doesn't. Hence, libreddit will actually cater to more people. This is what the "card" layout is like, which is the modern layout. Coming to technical differences, I really have no idea what they are, but as an end user libreddit is much more pleasant to use. |
recommended by @kibybyte Libreddit is now available on https://libreddit.pussthecat.org/ |
I would be interested in an NTS server (currently I think mainly Cloudflare and Netnod host them) and I think NTP pool is always looking for new members. |
Piped as an alternative to Invidious. It's more lightweight, all of features are described here |
@johndoe432 For the same reason why I don't have a public Invidious instance (bandwidth speed isn't unlimited): nope. |
I understand, thanks for your answer! |

It's a dead project... and it basically torrent with extra steps |
@snowcatridge10 you might wanna read the original issue more closely... |
Hi, I discovred PussTheCat when googing to find a curated list of privacy preserving frontend software. You provide soo many, thanks! Question: is anyone here aware of a curated list that attempts to enumerate all of these privacy-preserving-frontend projects? |
The Quetre instance should perhaps be taken down - it appears to be rate limited. As it stands right now, unless you all have some fancy IP address swapping on your end, it doesn't seem to be a fixable issue: zyachel/quetre#98 |
This is an issue to allow PussTheCat.org users to ask for new services to be provided.
I am interested in providing more public services on PussTheCat.org but I don't really know what might interest people. So feel free to post a comment to this issue if you want to suggest something (if you don't have a Github account and still want to suggest something feel free to contact me directly: https://pussthecat.org/about/ )
Requirements for services provided by PussTheCat.org:
The service must me legal (so nothing piracy related... or worse...): for obvious reasons.
The service must be "read only" : I don't want to have to handle user data in any way - This include any services with accounts that can't be disabled or services that allow users to create content "anonymously" (HedgeDoc/Privatebin...).
What I considered and ended up cancelling (if you are personally interested in those services I might reconsider):
Libreddit - Reddit frontend - Reasons: It copies the new "social media" Reddit interface, Teddit on the other end copy the old "informative website" Reddit interface that is better in every way.Edit: See: What public services would you like PussTheCat.org to provide? #2 (comment)Whoogle - Google frontend - Reasons: It's SearX... but worse in every way since it's only Google.
Wikiless - Wikipedia frontend - Reasons: It's just a "dumb" frontend in the sense that it basically proxy Wikipedia and doesn't do anything more. If IP grabers/censorship is your issue with wikipedia... VPN or Tor are here for you.
