Hello. This is a very strange problem... I wanted to write for you that everything works fine for me and it is possible that you have a problem with the mouse, but then I tried to use the touchpad... I saw this problem earlier, but then I just forgot about it. In general, the problem is not only in the JS port of all versions, but it was also in the java applet. @pfalstad @sharpie7 Do you mind if I transfer such issues to your repository for your convenience? (Maybe I will simply add links of my repository to these issues with a short description of the situation in the "Issues" section of your repository, because I don't know how "Transfer issue" works on githab). |
that's fine with me... But I can't reproduce this one. Are you saying it only happens with a touch screen? Cause I tried to reproduce it on an iPad and still couldn't. |
Oh no! I meant the touchpad from a notebook computer. My first press after selecting a new tool is ignored by the program when I use this touchpad. This problem does not exist if I use the mouse, but @tohtorizorro has the same problem when using the mouse, though... @tohtorizorro. Maybe you also use the touchpad. Am I right? |
I'll be dang'd! It seems like I only ever used the simulator with my laptop.. So, yes! Working fine when using a mouse, problem seems to exist only on a laptop touchpad. |
Ok.. I have a laptop with a touchpad. I tried it there and everything seems fine. |
The program began to work normally for me when I switched to Linux on the same laptop. This is a miracle!))) This problem appears when I use Windows 8.1. Well, apparently this is hardly be fixed... |
Ok, as said, I'm using win10 and so it is clearly an issue with Windows. No probs though, I'm happy to know that using a regular mouse solves the problem. It was great be in contact with you Paul. I really appreciate the simulations you have available on your website. I was quite thrilled when finding about them and tried to find more info about you but was surprised how little I came up with. Anyways, thanks again. ..btw, are you the same Paul Falstad with lots of cover songs in youtube? |
lol no, that's not me :) |
Part of me is relieved to hear that :) Well, this thread should probably be closed now. Apologies to Usevalad for flooding your GitHub with my off-topic rambling. Thanks once more & all the best for both of you guys! Mikko |
Hi, firstly I want to thank you and especially Paul for having this intuitive and helpful tool. The only nuisance I would really hope to get rid of is that after selecting a new 'tool' (e.g. resistor, selection...) the first click / drag never works. I've pretty much used to click my mouse button once after changing the tool by now but I'd still appreciate if this could be fixed. I've been using circuit simulator mainly in browser (Chrome in Win 10) but have tried this and Ian's JS port and the problem seems to exist in all versions.
Thanks!
