Wait... this issue is dumb. Of course I should be able to add a data view even if I don't yet have one set. I'm closing this and opening a new issue.

If the synapse ID corresponds to an entity other than a file view or table, then throw an exception and require the user to create a new file view first. Otherwise see #67
