getStatistics operation behaviour

What is the behaviour of the getStatistics operation If the paramObjInstIds field includes parameters that exist and are associated with actual statistLinkDefinitions but these links do not match the statisticFunction included in the first list ? (For instance, the statistic function selected is Min and the selected parameter is TOTO that currently exists, but TOTO has been linked with the MAX function and there is no link combining TOTO with the Min function).

Does the operation combine the 2 lists (Statistic function and parameterIdentity lists) using 'OR' logic like the triggerCheck operation or will an error be raised ?

Please clarify.
