editing the instrumentpanel for analog displaying

Hello all,
I'm a newbee in signalK and all the things it can do. We are starting to catch some data from the machine, periphals and gps, but we are not able to change the shown gauges.

The data we want to change are battery and speed (may bee in future more and other). To use the analog design I read the manual and found, there had to be a file namend "defaults.json" in the structure ..\signalK\signalKhome.signalk. While missing this file I create one, validate it online and store it. In signalK/instrumentpanel I choose "load settings" in the editor and mark the file like descripted before.
Restarting the server, but it doesnt take any effect. The same, if I store it under baseDefaults.json and activate it the same way.

What is wrong with this?

I've done some more test, using the plugin "edit zones".
Defining the data for electrical.batteries.voltage.* and changing * to 1.
The new content of defaults.json and basedefaults.json is

the gauge appears in the instrument panel (without the actual data), but I can't see any zones.

baseDefaults.json is the correct file. And you will have to add context as well for each path.

It takes no effect on my installation. This is my baseDefault.json:

I stored it in "D:\Program Files (x86)\signalk\signalkhome.signalk" (Windows10).
Then I choose [load all settings] from local file and click on baseDefaults.json.
In the ample I choose enable an then I restart SignalK.

I've found my way:
I have to insert the code below in the data fiddler and send it to the server.
After this I opened the instrument panel and the gauge was update in the editor.

A restart of the server will show the gauge in the right view, so it seems to be ok.
