TLS-SRP is a great way of deploying TLS on localhost/LAN/Tor/I2P/SSH tunneling/VPN. Because it doesn't require certs, there's no need to give up cert validation (as with self-signed certs) and no need to set up a local CA (to make non-self-signed certs). It's most useful for being able to join TLS-only channels (many IRCds implement this with mode +S) or otherwise use IRCd/ZNC/bitlbee features that require TLS.

  • Implement the feature
  • Further testing

Hm, our current implementation doesn't seem to prevent connecting to non-SRP servers. That's less than ideal... Not sure how to fix it, tho.
