Prerequisites

Describe the Feature Request

A user posted problems with the StartOS installer detecting his /dev/xvd* disks:
image

Which are Xen virtual disk driver devices:
https://askubuntu.com/questions/166083/what-is-the-dev-xvda1-device

But they are just sata virtual devices. Once he moved it to /dev/sd* the installer detected the virtual disk. Maybe the installer could check more paths than just /dev/sd*

Describe the Use Case

This would provide better installation support on Xen VMs

Describe Preferred Solution

Support sata disks appearing at /dev/xvd*

Describe Alternatives

Dropping this here for further, very interesting reading concerning disk paths and scsi api emulation in linux:

start-os searches /dev/disk not sd*. For some reason Linux isn't seeing this path as a disk
