Describe the bug
Installing fw-fanctrl-git-v1.0.0.r0.c5a7cfc-2 fails.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Attempt to install the package

Expected behavior
The package installs.

Error message

/usr/bin/python: No module named build
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().
    Aborting...
error: failed to build 'fw-fanctrl-git-v1.0.0.r0.c5a7cfc-2':
error: packages failed to build: fw-fanctrl-git-v1.0.0.r0.c5a7cfc-2

Environment (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Arch Linux x86_64, Zen Kernel 6.12.10-zen1-1-zen
  • Version: v1.0.0.r0.c5a7cfc-2
  • Configuration file: Default
  • Installation method: paru

Hi @Makonede,

Please refer to this post on the package's AUR page concerning this issue https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/fw-fanctrl-git#comment-1009605.

I will let this discussion open until it is fixed.

In the meantime, you can try installing the service using the installation script if you wish to do so.

❯ sudo ./install.sh
removing legacy files
installing ectool
downloading artifact from gitlab

ectool installed
building package
/usr/bin/python: No module named build

It seems that you are missing python's build module, do you have python-build package installed?

Installing python-build and python-installer fixed the issue, thanks!
