We have a report this is probably caused by Iris. Reported mod list to reproduce:

Vistas 2.3.0
Sodium 0.4.2+build.16
Iris 1.2.6
Fabric API 0.60.0

tested with 1.19.2 latest versions and still have the problem

Tested with 2.5.0 on 1.20.4. Still have the problem

I finally looked into this again and tried converting to use vanilla's takePanorama method. However, the vanilla method is also broken when Iris is present.

This issue is blocked by the Iris issue (it's Iris that is breaking panoramas in general):
IrisShaders/Iris#2196
