[1.12.2] Thaumic Restorer Visual Effect Bug

There's a strange bug with the Thaumic Restorer and its swirl effect. To create this bug, first place the Restorer down. It should look like this:

Then, place a block of some kind next to it, like so. It should now look like this with the swirl losing colour. Also note the transparency bug on the side:

Then once you remove the block, it should look like this, where the transparency problem is gone and the swirl remains grey:
