[1.8.9] The mod requires CodeChicken 1.7.10 but adding a 1.7.10 mod to a 1.8.9 pack crashes on startup.

Pretty much exactly what it says: if I install the mod it auto-installs CodeChicken for 1.7.10 as listed in the required dependencies section, which crashes on startup. If I remove CodeChicken for being the wrong version, it crashes during loading because the mod tries to reference a library that isn't there. I've seen people on Curseforge talk about playing with the mod, so I'm assuming there's something I'm missing somewhere about how to get this to work. I've looked everywhere and there is no 1.8.9 version of CodeChicken, and the pack runs fine with both Thaumic Tinkerer and CodeChicken removed so it's not something else doing something weird.
