Pages not loading and Images now showing up on pages #106
Comments
hi Ike, Sorry I've been sans Mac for a week, so I was not able to respond to your Win 10 query sooner. I shall attempt to reinstall my Win 10 VM later today, and see if I can duplicate any of the issues you reported. Note, I did quickly look at the 'iwon.com' site you mentioned, but it appears to no longer be up and running, least that is the message I saw on their home page yesterday. Besides images not loading in 'yahoo.com', were there any other sites you found issue with? BTW, what was your plan for using WAT, if I may ask. Regards, Mark |
Hi Mark, The Iwon.com site is actually the Email site and log in "http://cc.iwon.com/btlogin/login2.html" As for other pages, I didn't go to too many pages as I was working on other issues at the time and had to have Full Functionality. |
hi Ike, Hope to load up Win 10 later this afternoon, dealing with another client issue at the moment, thanks for your patience and explaining that site URL better. Regards, |
Hi Ike, |
Sorry Menovak, IKE |
hi Ike 1- Can you send me a screen shot of your Manage Add Ons page (see mine in prior reply). 2 - Assume you have WAT loaded and this work web page will not load. Then if you uninstall WAT and reboot your computer and 'immediately' retry your work web page, it will work? 3 - Are you on a net work of PCs at your work? If so, do you admin the network access rights or does someone do that for you? 4 - Can you explain what you are wanting to use WAT for? Thanks Mark |
HI Menoavak: 1- Can you send me a screen shot of your Manage Add Ons page (see mine in prior reply). 3 - Are you on a net work of PCs at your work? If so, do you admin the network access rights or does someone do that for you? 4 - Can you explain what you are wanting to use WAT for? Hope this is helpful |
hi Ike, Thanks for your replies and the Word doc. with screen shots. I do not see WAT listed in the Manage Add Ons? If WAT is properly loaded, it should appear as it does in the screen shot I shared earlier from my computer. And what is the item I've enclosed in red outline that is in your Manage Add Ons ? Thanks |
Wat won't show up as it is Uninstalled now. |
OK Menovak, |
hi Ike,
2 - As far as accessing your secure desktop via Citrix, I'm thinking that you are going to need to check with your network security people, since often times they block network access if toolbars are detected to be loaded, they may have to allow for WAT, especially since we are 'Not Verified' as a source.... (From what you said you could access your secure site without WAT installed, and then can not access your secure site when WAT is installed.) There was some discussion of this in Issue #96. 3 - another option I could try, is for me to log into your secure network, since I have my computer configured as needed - but assume I may need some kind of clearance or permission to do that, but willing to try... Regards, |
Hi Menovak, Thanks for the quick reply ;) 2.) When it comes to accessing the network, Its not that I can't access the Network, I can log into Citrix, but when I click on the remote desktop icon IE Crashes (only with WAT installed). 3.) As for you accessing the network, that is probably a doubtful option as it does require fingerprinting and background check as well as FBI review. I will have to reinstall WAT later this evening when I get off and then copy and forward the screenshots to you :) Dwight |
1.) As for installing it and sending a screenshot of Manage Addon's I can do that. "thanks" 2.) When it comes to accessing the network, Its not that I can't access the Network, I can log into Citrix, but when I click on the remote desktop icon IE Crashes (only with WAT installed). "question - do the people using Win 7 have WAT installed and if yes, are they accessing the VA thru all this without issue?" "I'm a bit confused. RDP (remote desk top) does not require IE does it? So when does launching IE enter the process that it crashes RDP?" "another thought - Is there a chance that WAT could be installed at the VA, and not on your Win 10 computer for testing ?" 3.) As for you accessing the network, that is probably a doubtful option as it does require fingerprinting and background check as well as FBI review. " actually I have homeland clearance from a recent project - assume it is still active" |
hi Dwight, Short of that, only other thing I can suggest is to enable event logging for IE 11 (may require registry change) and see if you can capture the 'crash' in a log file, that may provide a clue as to what the real issue is. Mark |
Hi menovak, "question - do the people using Win 7 have WAT installed and if yes, are they accessing the VA thru all this without issue?" "I'm a bit confused. RDP (remote desk top) does not require IE does it? So when does launching IE enter the process that it crashes RDP?" "another thought - Is there a chance that WAT could be installed at the VA, and not on your Win 10 computer for testing ?" Dwight |
Forgot to attach the file. |
"question - do the people using Win 7 have WAT installed and if yes, are they accessing the VA thru all this without issue?" "" Then I assume you are using WAT on the Win 7 computers and getting what you need to have done, and it is just an annoyance that it does not work on the Win 10 computer? "" "I'm a bit confused. RDP (remote desk top) does not require IE does it? So when does launching IE enter the process that it crashes RDP?" "" Thank you for the screen shots, I used to use RDP to the University here, and did not access in that fashion, good to know. The only thing I can think to do is you would have to enable error logging on IE11, and that may or may not catch the issue and provide a clue, I have no way of telling."" "" two other things you might try |
hi Dwight, Thanks for the error log, as suspected not a lot of help, but I'm sure you've already done some google searching on the '0x0eedfade' error, and one of the generic issues it covers is to unload extensions (which we kind of already knew). If you have WAT running on other Windows 7 64 bit computers and accessing the VA just fine (is what I understood you to say), then perhaps you can do some comparison of what the Windows 7 registry entries versus your Windows 10 registry entries look like? Id start off by searching for 'accessibility_toolbar'. There should be two entries - Win32 and Win 64 - to see if you uncover any differences... Another thought would be to manually unload and reboot, and then manually reload both the 32/64 bit WAT dlls using regsvr32. Not sure why the dlls would not be loading properly, but its an easy thing to try. On both my Win 8.1 and Win 10 computers (both 64 bit), the WAT dlls reside in their respective Program Files / Program Files (x86/Web-Accessibility-Toolbar directories. While it should not make any difference, you could always also try manually unloading both dlls, then copy each to their respective windows/system32 and windows/syswow64 and manually re-register(load) them within the windows directories. Apart from trying these tricks, and/or if that helps at all, i've run out of other ideas or suggestions. It is very difficult to trouble shoot an issue such as this without actually being able to duplicate the issue here and run from my computer. As I also don't have access to the source for the WAT dlls, I'm not sure what if anything in them would be an issue for your Win 10 computer accessing RDP, versus what seems to work on my Win10 computer (but I do not use RDP). I can only offer if WAT works on Win 7, you may have to use that method -or- attempt to get the VA to install WAT on their end, such that you would not have to deal with it on your local computer. If you have other thoughts or suggestions, I'm happy to keep discussing or trouble-shooting, but I'm doubtful we will solve this. Regards, |
Hi Mark, Thanks for all of your help. I will try some of the ideas you suggested. I will give you some more feedback when I get the chance to try it all. Thanks again for all the help!!! |
Hi all,
I am running Windows 10 64/bit with IE 11
I DL'd and installed WAT_2015-05-20_32.64bit version
After installing and running IE I have pages, Yahoo for instance, where graphics do not load
Additionally I have pages that I go to all the time (iwon.com for one) that would not load .
Also I access a secure network via Citrix Access Gateway and now that will not load.
Any ideas as to why I am having these issues.
I have already uninstalled WAT and rebooted Windows to get my IE back working normally.
I did read through the issue #96 log and found some registry fixes for WIN7 but not sure if they will work in Win10.
Thanks in advance for all assistance.
IKE

dear Ike. sorry that we don't give lightning support for a non-commercial little tool that we provide completely free of charge... FYI Patrick, I would not consider asking for a response within 24 hours to be requesting "Lightning support"

my suggestion: check that you haven't actually disabled image loading, javascript etc using the toolbar itself (in the IE > Toggle Images , IE > Toggle JavaScript etc menu) Patrick, I have been working on Computers and the Internet for over 35 years, don't you think I would KNOW if I had toggled them?? Additionally the loss of images happened IMMEDIATELY after installing WAT, I had changed NO settings
