Downloaded the whole provided directory and it still does not work

The widescreen fix it still displays at a 4:3 resolution

You need to download the WS fix separately. It's not part of the full package.

Alright did that. GTA 2 works ingame but GTA 1 is just a giant black screen but controls and audio still work. Also both of their menus are still just a small square on a black screen but they still work
