  • Improved sandboxing and security
  • Privacy policy updated to mention that some Scratch extensions may contact Scratch services
  • Added simple cut/copy/paste context menu
  • Fixed music extension
  • Fixed text to speech extension

Changes since v0.0.4

  • Warp timer is now enabled by default. This may slightly reduce performance, but it greatly reduces the risk of crashes. It can be disabled in the Advanced menu.
  • The app now has an icon. It may take a little while for this to update in things like the start menu and taskbar.
  • More parts of the app's interface are now translatable.
  • Various bug fixes and improvements.
  • The website has been redesigned
  • Linux: Added x86 32-bit support.
  • Linux: Added AppImage support.
  • Linux: Beta version uploaded to the Snap store
  • Linux: Fixed icon

v0.0.4

Changes since v0.0.3

  • Dark mode
  • Many bug fixes and improvements (#24, #33, #34, various bug fixes and improvements in GUI, compiler, addons)
  • Linux: builds for ARM systems are now available

To update from an older version, run the installer again.

Windows

Download and run TurboWarp-Desktop-Setup-0.0.4.exe.

If Windows SmartScreen complains, click "More info" then "Run anyways". I know this sucks, but there's very little we can do about this right now (see #4)

macOS

Download TurboWarp-Desktop-Setup-0.0.4.dmg. Open it and drag TurboWarp Desktop into Applications.

You probably won't be able to open TurboWarp Desktop yet because our binaries aren't signed by Apple. To open it, open Finder, go to Applications, and control+click/right click TurboWarp Desktop then select "Open" and then "Open" again. You only have to do this once (per update?). I know this sucks, but there's very little we can do about this right now (see #4)

The macOS build is supposed to be a universal app, so it should work on both Intel and ARM Macs, but I'm only able to test on an Intel Mac.

Linux

TurboWarp Desktop currently only supports Debian, Ubuntu, and their derivatives. If you're on another distro, open an issue -- it won't be added if no one asks. Download the package that matches your computer's architecture and install it with your package manager:

As always, open an issue if you have any problems.

v0.0.3

Changes since v0.0.2

  • Addons!
    • TurboWarp's reimplementation of the internals of a certain browser extension has been significantly improved, which makes porting addons trivial.
    • Addons can be enabled or disabled and have their settings changed with the new "Addons" button.
    • Addons can now be translated.
    • Imported addon: Onion skinning
    • Imported addon: Hex color picker (enabled by default)
    • Imported addon: Data category tweaks
    • Imported addon: Bitmap images copying (enabled by default)
    • Imported addon: Display stage on left side
    • Imported addon: Confirm sprite deletion
    • Imported addon: Record project video
    • Imported addon: Customizable block colors
    • Imported addon: Auto-hide block palette
    • Imported addon: Colored context menus
    • Imported addon: Clone counter
    • Imported addon: Mouse position
    • These will soon find their way into the turbowarp.org website as well :)
  • Fix automatic restore points
  • Fix fullscreen resizing
  • Various bug fixes
  • Windows: Removed menu bar. Developer tools can still be accessed with Ctrl+Shift+I
  • macOS: You can now open multiple windows through File (macOS menu bar, not Scratch) > New Window or with Command+N

To update from an older version, run the installer again.

Windows

Download and run TurboWarp.Desktop-win-0.0.3.exe.

Windows SmartScreen might complain. If it does, click "More info" then "Run anyways". I know this sucks, but there's very little we can do about this right now (see #4)

macOS

Download TurboWarp.Desktop-mac-0.0.3.dmg.zip. Open the resulting TurboWarp.Desktop-mac-0.0.3.dmg and drag TurboWarp Desktop into Applications.

You probably won't be able to open TurboWarp Desktop yet because our binaries aren't signed by Apple. To open it, open Finder, go to Applications, and control+click/right click TurboWarp Desktop then select "Open" and then "Open" again. You only have to do this once (per update?). Linux

Currently, TurboWarp Desktop only officially supports Debian and Ubuntu derivatives. If you're on another distro, open an issue -- it won't be added if no one asks. Download TurboWarp.Desktop-linux-0.0.3.deb and install it using your distribution's package manager. Linux support hasn't been as thoroughly tested as other platforms.
